He Poroporoaki mō Kaumatua Patrick Tupoto Manawakaiaia Ruka

Hekeheke te ua, hikohiko te uira, pūpuhi ngā hau.

He aitua! he aitua!

Kua hinga mai he tōtara o te wao nui.

He maha ngā waihotanga i mahue mai e koe, E kore e warewaretia e tātou tō kaha i roto i ngā kaupapa taketake-a-iwi, taketake-a-whenua, hauora tangata me tō reo rangatira.

Anō rā ko tō kaha tū kōrero whakatikatika i ngā ara pikopiko o te tangta, o te iwi, o te kāwanatanga me te ao.

Nui ana tō kaha tautoko mō Iharaira he mahi nui i waihotia e ōu kaumatua ki a koe.

The rain pours down, the lightning flashes, the winds blow.

A calamity! A calamity! A great tōtara tree of the forest has fallen.

The distressing wail weeps at the news of passing O Koro Pat.

The time has come for your body to return to the land below and your spirit to return above.

Go now beyond the veil.

Rest now in the presence of your God whose name is the Lord of Hosts, the God of Israel.

Your works in this world are completed.

The great many deeds carried out by you will never be forgotten, namely, your stance for the issues of indigeneity, of land, of the wellbeing of people, and for our chiefly language.

Again we remember the strength of your voice to speak correction when people, tribes, governments and the world strays away from righteous life principles.

Great was your support too for Israel, a work left to you by your elders.

You have left these works for us to pick up and continue.

Our prayer is that your God would carry your bereaved family through their mourning at this time.

We hearken to the word of your God, "we are of good courage, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body and to be home with the Lord".

In light of this e koro Pat, go well and direct.
